Donkeys were the main animals that helped the poor Portuguese in cultivating the land and delivering goods.Burro de Miranda is a local donkey breed called by the name of Terra de Miranda region in the northeast of Portugal. Miranda donkeys are distinguished from common donkeys by longer hair, and they are considered more social and docile.There is a common expression “Cor de burro quando foge”, which means the color of a runaway donkey. Who can say now what color it was? Maybe even cobalt?
